Moderna Museet | Malmö
The Moderna Museet in Malmö is a modern and contemporary art museum in south Sweden. It is part of the Moderna Museet network, which includes a museum in Stockholm.
The Moderna museum Malmö, which opened in 2009, is housed inside a former Power station, dating to the early 20th century, with a very interesting expansion designed by Swedish practice Tham & Videgård Arkitekter: the extension looks like a large red-colored box, clad in perforated steel panels.
The Moderna Malmö houses a part of the Moderna Museet’s permanent collection, which includes important artworks of the 20th and the 21st century.
The museum also features a lively activity with temporary exhibitions, conferences, special events, and art workshops for families and children.
The museum also includes a shop and a cafe. The Moderna Museet Malmö is wheelchair-accessible.
