Rome | Roberto Capucci at the MAXXI exhibition “Bellissima”

The work of Roberto Capucci will be one of the main features at the new exhibition “BELLISSIMA. L’Italia dell’alta moda 1945-1968” , taking place at the MAXXI museum in Rome from 2 December, 2014 to 3 May 2015.

Capucci, that this year has been featured in exhibitions at the Venaria Reale in Turin, at the State Museum of Theater and Music in Saint Petersburg and at the Victoria and Albert museum in London, at the Rome exhibition will be presented through six among his most revolutionary creations, realized between the Fifties and the late Sixties, such as the dress-sculpture in white and black organdy, firstly presented at Palazzo Pitti, that in 1958 granted him the Filene’s award, popularly known as the “Oscar for fashion”.

The exhibition “Bellissima” display over 20 years of fashion in an exhibition that recreates the styles of a period that made an extraordinary contribution to the definition of the Italian identity on an international scale.
From Sorelle Fontana to Fendi, from Schubert, Germana Marucelli, Mila Schön to Sarli and Simonetta, from Capucci to Gattinoni, Valentino and Galitzine for a reconstruction of a galaxy in which the diverse protagonists take form through iconic clothes, images and films.

The exhibition is curated by Maria Luisa Frisa, Anna Mattirolo and Stefano Tonchi.
