Fabbrica del Vapore, Milan

Fabbrica del Vapore is an exhibition center and creative hub in Milan, located in via Procaccini not far from the Monumental Cemetery.
Housed in the former industrial complex of the tram and rail vehicle manufacturer Carminati e Toselli, once popularly dubbed as “Fabbrica del Vapore” (Steam Factory), the complex was converted by the Municipality of Milan into an art and design hub in 2011.
Today, the complex includes workshops for artists and designers, performance spaces, offices for creative companies, a theater, a cinema, cafes, and a large exhibition center, where major exhibitions of contemporary art and design are regularly hosted.

Fabbrica del Vapore can be reached rather comfortably by metro (line 5, station Monumentale) and by tram (line 12 from Duomo).
