Italian Design Icons installation at the Triennale

Triennale Design Museum – from 4 April 2014  to 22 February 2015

The Triennale Design Museum in Milan exhibits, in its CreativeSet hall, a new large glass showcase-installation where many symbols of  Italian design, belonging to the museum permanent collection, are grouped. Chairs, lamps, coffee tables, sofas, coat-stands are the pieces that form the “objects landscape” we all well know and – as Silvia Annichiarico says – represent “What is left. What resists time and modes, which goes beyond trends and schools, which stabilizes in perception and settle as a ‘ classic ‘ imaginary.”

Around the huge glass warehouse showcase, designed by Antonio Citterio, five “icons”, extracted from the case, are placed on the ground and displayed with a particular evidence; they will be rotated every month, following a selection made by famous masters of design: Enzo Mari, Cini Boeri, Mario Bellini, Andrea Branzi, Nanda Vigo, Alessandro Mendini, Ugo La Pietra, Michele de Lucchi, Gaetano Pesce and Antonio Citterio.
