The Musée des Confluences (Museum of Confluences) in Lyon is a new museum covering a broad range of scientific fields such as Natural Science and Ethnography.
The museum, opened in late 2014 and housed in a futuristic building designed by the Austrian architectural practice CoopHimmelb(l)au, takes its name from both such variety of covered matters and the position of its site, located at the confluence of rivers Rhône and Saône.

The collections of the Musée des Confluences, amounting to over two million pieces, feature various themes: Mineralogy, Zoology, Paleontology, Entomology, and Ethnography. The permanent exhibition is divided into four sections: Origins – stories of the world; Species: the living world; Societies: the human theater and Eternities: visions of the hereafter.

The museum also organizes temporary exhibitions, lectures, workshops, special events, and concerts, particularly oriented toward world music.
At the museum, a shop a cafeteria, and a restaurant are available to the visitors.
The Musée des Confluences is fully accessible to disabled people.
