Stockholm Furniture Fair 2023 celebrates Swedish design and Scandinavian core values

The next edition of the Stockholm Furniture Fair is open from 7 through 11 February 2023.
With a Guest of Honor installation by the Swedish design studio Front, and the bar “Underbar” by the interior architect Jonas Bohlin, Swedish design will be put at the forefront for the first time in the event’s history.
Sustainability and circularity will be highlighted in several panel debates and two exhibitions, including “Now or Never – 1kg CO2e” by designer Emma Olbers.
With the new concept “The Nude Edition” – an exhibition area with pre-built stands made of recycled material – and 100Gruppen as a new sustainability partner alongside Swedish Wood, Stockholm Furniture Fair will continue its commitment to more sustainable ways of exhibiting.

As previously mentioned, the Guest of Honour 2023 will be the design studio Front, which will present the “Pebble Rubble” project designed for the Italian company Moroso: the installation will evoke the atmosphere of the Nordic forests highlighting the research of the Front studio on the therapeutic effects that nature exerts on people’s physical and mental health, as well as on the cultural and psychological significance of the uncontaminated environments of Sweden, their country of origin.

Arda is a fabric specially designed by Front and made by Kvadrat Febrik. Its development stems from the scanning and transposition of patterns and natural surfaces, and it was designed with the Pebble Rubble Collection in mind. It has 16 colors – 3 of them exclusive to Moroso – that offer the possibility of changing the appearance of each individual element, ranging from the nuances and chromatic gradations of different minerals and rocks to the softness of moss, lichens, and the first snow.
