Want to know all about the state-of-the-art of craft, design, graphic and fashion design in Korea? The exhibition Korea Now!, on view at “Les Arts Décoratifs” in Paris from 19 September 2015 through 3 January 2016, is a journey across Korean contemporary creativity.

Organized in partnership with the Korea Craft & Design Foundation, the exhibition features over 700 artifacts, created by 150 artisans and designers, on view in the temporary exhibition spaces of the museum, expressing the diversity and the creativity of a culture yet to be fully discovered in Europe.

In the section “design and craft”, artifacts manufactured with traditional craft techniques and objects conceived by young designers and produced through cutting-edge technologies are presented side by side; from laquerware to paper objects, from gold and silver tableware to jewels, more than 400 artifacts are on show. The section dedicated to fashion features 120 dresses and accessories by both acclaimed and emerging designers, thus illustrating a field that in Korea has developed substantially over the last 35 years.
Finally, the graphic design section showcases about 200 pieces, including posters, magazines and books, that reveal the work by a generation of young Korean designers in a discipline that emerged and developed taking its cue from key events, such as the Country’s independence in 1945 and the Summer Olympics in Seoul in 1988.
