In the section “design and craft”, artifacts manufactured with traditional craft techniques and objects conceived by young designers and produced through cutting-edge technologies are presented side by side; from laquerware to paper objects, from gold and silver tableware to jewels, more than 400 artifacts are on show. The section dedicated to fashion features 120 dresses and accessories by both acclaimed and emerging designers, thus illustrating a field that in Korea has developed substantially over the last 35 years.
Finally, the graphic design section showcases about 200 pieces, including posters, magazines and books, that reveal the work by a generation of young Korean designers in a discipline that emerged and developed taking its cue from key events, such as the Country’s independence in 1945 and the Summer Olympics in Seoul in 1988.
