A virtual tour of Florence during the coronavirus pandemic

Florence as never seen before, beautiful and empty.
The Tuscan city, immobilized by the coronavirus pandemic, lives in the work by the photographer Fabio Casati. The virtual tour, a journey through the most popular squares, monuments and urban spaces – from Santa Maria Novella to San Lorenzo, from Piazza de ‘Pitti to via de’ Tornabuoni – is made even more surreal by the presence of many signs of the current ‘suspended time’: the banners of the exhibitions that have been closed, the outdoor coffee tables empty, the awnings of the shops barred on Ponte Vecchio.
